My experience with Dr Ajay Doiphode…
Let me introduce myself.  My  name is Brian Vas, Male, 37 years of age. By Profession I’m an an architect living and working in dubai since the past one year six months.  My job involves a lot of site work where I’m exposed to a lot of pollution, like debris, saw dust, paint smell.  Also handling my subordinates (workers on site) takes a toll on my voice.  Recently about three months back at the beginning of February my voice suddenly became horse.  I attributed the same to my shouting at site.  It continued for a while and I paid little or no attention to the same. 

Mid March I landed in Bombay for my annual leave bringing with me my horse voice which if was not getting bad was neither getting better.  Thinking that it would go away I continued living my lifestyle which involves drinking and smoking on a daily basis.  Little did I know that the horseness in my voice was actually a lump which was developing and growing bigger and bigger day by day thanks to my lifestyle.
After two weeks things really got bad.  One day I wake up in the morning and am not able to find my voice and can harldy speak.  That really scared me to death.  That day I visited my family doctor almost after  2months of first feeling the horseness in my voice.  He suggested a few medicines and home therapies.  But things did not improve.  After visiting my family doctor a couple of times and seeing no visible signs of improvement I was recommended to see a ENT specialist.  That’s how I was introduced and met Dr AjayDoiphode, an ENT specialist. 

Usually one is a bit apprehensive and nervous when seeing a doctor for the first time.  But the moment I entered his cabin, Dr Ajaymade me feel at ease and assured me that all would be well….  After his usual check up routine when he broke the news to me that I had a lump in the throat and it could be cancer, I was  shattered, but his soothing words and assurance kind of calmed me down…
I was told that I would have to undergo surgery to remove the lump.  The surgery itself was a simple but effective affair.  After administering general anesthesia a small camera attached to a tube is lowered down your  throat and it displays on a TV screen.   Then using surgical scissors the lump is cut carefully.  The whole process takes about a hour.  The lump had then to be sent to the Cancer lab for testing to check if it was malignant.  Thankfully for me it turned out to be non cancerous tissue which was a big relief.

In fact I was admitted in the hospital at eight thirty in the morning, surgery from nine thirty to eleven, gained consciousness at 12 noon.  Was discharged at sharp six, in the evening.  Like to mention here that the entire treatment(pre and post surgery) the tests, the visits to the doctor, the post treatment did not take more than more than two weeks.  I returned to Dubai a healed man with DrAjay’s kind advice, a few prescribed medicines and my voice back.  Have been advised speech therapy which would get my voice back completely and restore my confidence

In short Dr Ajay was a big help.   He not only carefully listed all the tests that I would have to undergo before the surgery but also gave me a summary of how the surgery would be done and the precautions that would be taken.   He categorically mentioned all the expenses that I would have to bear and asked me if I was ok with it.  Very few doctors do that.  Also he asked me if I had mediclaim.  When I said I did, he carefully listed down all that I had to do and not do while claiming for the same.  In short I felt that he went out of his way to help in any way he could… and that too without being asked to…

All throughout the period, right from the first visit, through the surgery till the last visit.  I never felt that I was visiting a doctor.  He took such good care of me that I felt that I was seeing a friend.  In short Dr Ajay Doiphode is more than a doctor, He is like a friend and a mentor… someone who is genuinely here to help you no matter who you are. 

If I was asked to recommend a good doctor, I would recommend Dr Ajay Doiphode ten times over…
